Denarius Overview
Denarius is a P2P (Peer to Peer) decentralized cryptocurrency, having no central authority or entity. It is powered by the people that run nodes like you. Denarius functions as a protocol, network, and has a cryptocurrency called D.
FortunaStakes
Denarius has custom masternodes called FortunaStakes. FortunaStakes require 5,000 D to be configured for an FS and are entirely decentralized in the network. They reward you 33% of block rewards and fees.
Jupiter
Denarius has introduced a new interface and RPC options known as "Jupiter". Jupiter implements IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) within Denarius, allowing you to upload files and data to the IPFS merkle tree. Additionally, you can utilize Proof-of-Data to timestamp these files directly on the Denarius blockchain.
Open Source License
Denarius is an open source software project released under the MIT/X11 license. This license provides you the power to run, modify, and copy the software, as well as to distribute modified copies at your option. The software is released in a transparent process that allows for independent verification of binaries and their corresponding source code.
Upcoming Features
Denarius DNS is a feature currently in development and will be made available in the near future.
Staking
Denarius supports staking, using Proof-of-Stake consensus to help validate the blockchain and reward you for running a node in the network at 6% per year on coins you enable for staking.
BIP66 Support
Denarius includes BIP66 support for CLTV (Check Lock Time Verify), which is used in conjunction with MultiSig addresses for atomic cross-chain swapping and transactions. This feature can be utilized via different 3rd party clients.
Transactional Throughput
Denarius features extremely fast transactional throughput, capable of handling over 147 TPS (Transactions per second), which amounts to roughly 12.8 million transactions per day without slowing down the Denarius blockchain mempool. The blockchain is secured through PoW (Proof of Work) and PoS (Proof of Stake) consensus methods.
Blockchain Longevity
As of June 14th, 2020, Denarius’s blockchain has been operational for over 3 years, having started on June 14th of 2017. The blockchain is immutable, and the Denarius chain has proven itself over time.
Native Tor Integration
Denarius features deep integration with the Tor Project’s Tor Hidden Service. This mode, called "Native Tor", allows you to start Denarius configured with the nativetor=1 flag to utilize its built-in Tor daemon. This setup enables the creation of a hidden service hostname and ensures connections only to other Native Tor enabled nodes on the Denarius network, enhancing privacy.
